Healthy Bodies

The Healthy Bodies topic aims to co-produce scalable community and system interventions to tackle the child and family obesity crisis. It seeks to support the optimum physical health of children and families including prevention of obesity.

Healthy Bodies projects include:

JU:MP - Join Us Move Play

The Sport England funded JU:MP (Join Us:Move Play) Programme is an evidence-based ‘whole system’ intervention to tackle children and young people’s physical inactivity. Born in Bradford is evaluating JU:MP to see whether it is effective, and what and how systems change is happening.

PhD: Exploring how citizen science can be used to improve health

This project will be using citizen science to investigate the barriers and facilitators to children and families taking part in physical activity in Bradford as part of the JU:MP program. Through this we hope to develop a toolkit to help citizen scientists make positive health changes for themselves and their community.
